UPFC III POWER RANKINGS: Draft Winners and Losers

Updated: Jul 11, 2023

This draft like previous drafts was full of emotion, rage keyboard typing, cursing, and no-shows. But, through the grit, determination, and complaining, winners and losers for UPFC III came in full form. Here are the Power Rankings for the UPFC III Draft.

  1. Stephen is the top winner for this years draft for a second time. Just like UPFC II Stephen did a great job picking up; Attack Sweepers, Special Attack Sweepers, Support, Hazard laying, and Walls. Also, he picked known threats in the Pokémon Competitive play realm like; Gholdengo, Clodsire, and Maushold. He has the second most overused (OU), and underused (UU) according to Pokémon Showdown with five. Though Stephen did great in the draft he has a hard time implementing a synergy between Pokémon and Trainer, so he isn't a strong number 1 in UPFC III Draft Power Rankings.

  2. A close second in UPFC III draft Power Rankings may be surprising for some. This Champion Trainer has always been a great competitor, but tends to fall short in the Playoffs. Noah is rated in second place for the first time ever in UPFC Draft Power Rankings. He has one of the best Entry Hazard Pokémon, Glimmora, one of the best Attack Sweepers, Kingambit, and the most OU Pokémon in the draft. His experience, competitive nature, and Pokémon may just be enough to be UPFC III Master Champion.

  3. It is no surprise Hayden is in the top 3. He is two time defending champion, and had some great picks in the draft like Ursaluna and Rabsca. Only question is if he can find synergy between himself and Pokémon. If history repeats itself, he has the potential to be a three time Champion.

  4. Soulblxze is in fourth. As a rookie in the UPFC he hasn't seen similar competition except for OU Pokémon Showdown, which in itself requires heavily on what OP Pokémon you have for the month and not necessarily the tactics side of Pokémon. With only 1 OU Pokémon, a huge indicator on how well he does will be Week 1.

  5. 2nd time competing in the UPFC we can only reference the first UPFC he entered and it didn't end well. Though his record was 3-2, he left after a stunning defeat against Hayden. Only time will tell if Billay will be in it to the end. If he does, he has the potential to place high or even win the entire competition. Though his team is unique and not a bunch of OU's. Billay has always proven himself to be tactically sound.

  6. Zack has a quality team, the only question is will he develop them in time for the tournament. Greninja has always been a solid sweeper, and with the other Pokémon on his team he has the potential to be a competitive player in this competition.

  7. In any league there is always a fan favorite. R3no, a veteran in this league, has always displayed a competitive edge, like facing Hayden in the Finals taking him to a game 3 in UPFC I, or making it to the semi-finals in the Playoffs in UPFC II. His edgy style and fan favorite Pokémon like Dragonite and Pikachu has always been a fun matchup to watch. However, this year is probably the worst draft pick he has ever done in UPFC history and he tends to fall tactically short when it matters the most. R3no has a lot to prove in possibly his last UPFC tournament ever.

  8. TT-Bone has never preformed well because he relies too heavily on being tactically sound with his favorite Pokémon, rather then picking the optimal Pokémon the generation has to offer. With his team he is going to have to play perfect to even make the Playoffs.

  9. Ryebguy is back and he plans on serving everyone up a full meal. We dont know if he drafted food Pokemon for some comical relief or not, the biggest question is will Ryebguy even finish his team or even compete? If he does, the league may be served a full meal of upsets during the tournament.

  10. isaac has a horrible Pokémon composition and horrible tactics. The true test to this Pokémon trainer is if he has the character to continue to play after a stream of losses. Or will this trainer have a stream of tears and quit.
