The champion is on top. An old dog is starting to hunt, and everyone in the UPFC III has a loss. This is the first time ever in UPFC III history. Ursaluna breaks a 10 year old record kept by Christopher's Snorlax and Barchun's Sharpedo. This is Week 4 Power Rankings.
1..Barchun is back where belongs, in the number 1 seed. Ursaluna just broke a record in UPFC history getting 11 knockouts with 0 faints. Barchun’s, plethora of Spore with his Breloom caught Blaze off guard. This game was a two-game series with only one game close. Barchun’s next matchup is Ryeryebguy which should be an easy win if he prepares.
2. Noah vs Billay shows the superior preparation work Noah had against Billay. Quagsire was a defensive wall that Billay couldn’t get past. So much so that in game 2, Billay had to surrender because of a checkmate Noah had formed with his wall of Pokémon. Noah’s loss against Hayden was a wake-up call for this trainer, and he gave himself a whole week to prepare against his matchup with Billay. Watch out for Noah’s preparation for each game. This trainer doesn’t sleep on anyone. Noah’s next match-up is TT-Bone, both only have one loss against the defending champion. Whoever wins this will establish their dominance in UPFC III.
3. TT-Bone’s rope-a-dope strategy outperformed Steven’s OU Pokémon. Goldengo, Steven’s top performer in UPFC III, had 0 knockouts (K)/2 faints (D), and 0 assists (O). Venomoth tried to cover the loss by getting 3k/2D/0A, but it wasn’t enough to get the W in a best-of-three-game series against TT-Bone. Both two games went down to the wire, with TT-Bone only having one Pokémon left. Steven will need bigger contributions from both Gholdengo and Haxorus to win. On the positive side, this was Steven’s first season loss. So, he has time to improve his tactical performance against TT-Bone if they ever face off again in the knockout phase or the playoffs. Steven’s next opponent is Mr. KumaD. Though Steven should win on paper, Mr.KumaD is coming off a two-game winning streak.
4. The veteran TT-Bone just performed the most significant underdog win this season, defeating the undefeated trainer, Steven. His win just made the Scarlet Division open for anyone besides Isaac to make the Playoffs and not have to do the knock-out phase. His win was contributed by Tub, Mismagius, with her unforeseen witchcraft, getting 3k/2d/0a, something we never expected Tub to do. Another outstanding performance was Shamsiel getting 4k/1d/0. The unsung hero on TT-Bone’s team is Wishes. This Pokemon doesn’t look great on paper, but it has now been dubbed the Dragon Slayer, defeating both Dragonite and Haxorous, the two top Dragon Pokémon in the tournament. TT-bone can’t relax next week, his next opponent is Noah who is having a breakthrough tournament.
5. Flak3 battling Isaac resulted in what everyone expected: a two-game win. Bob Saget had a surprising performance, taking out four of Isaac’s Pokémon and receiving an overall KDA of 4k/1d/0a. Indeedee did what she was supposed to do, putting a reflection up to help stop Isaac’s physical attackers, resulting in 5 assists. But the heavy load was carried by Bossk, who got five knockouts and only one faint. Flak3's next matchup is Blxze. Flak3 must win this to be in the race for the Playoffs. Out of all the Trainers, Flak3 has had the most games against trainers currently below 50 percent wants, tied with Billay. The second half of the season is about to be a lot harder for Flak3.
6. Billay’s matchup against Noah was a tough one. You can tell Noah was thoroughly prepared against this matchup which caught Billay off guard. Billay drops down one because of this. Billay in order to start catching more steam and leave the middle of the pack will have to practice against his matchups. Going in cold turkey is gambling your win. Billay’s next matchup is Isaac which will be a good reset for him. But, Billay can't sit and relax, he will have to prepare for his matchup because anyone in this league can get a lucky knockout.
7. Blxze had no idea there wasn’t a sleep clause in the tournament. If Blxze needs to prepare and read the rules before facing off against opponents. Blxze has had a tough showing in UPFC with only one win. However, his team has all the right ingredients to win. But, this trainer needs to prepare before battling someone. Also, this trainer has had the hardest schedule thus far. Playing against all trainers with a 50 percent win percentage or better. Blxze next matchup is his partner in crime Flak3. This series may very well go to the wire.
8. MrKumaD surprised everyone this last week defeating RyeRyebguy in an upset. Though Mr. KumaD claims he had no idea what he was doing, he managed to only allow 5 Pokemon to get knocked out in two games. Greninja was his most valuable performer this week, taking out PG Tips, Challah, and Porchetta, getting a KDA in a two-game series: 6k/0k/0a, and having a perfect series. This perfect performance is only second to Christpher’s Snorlax UPFC I, Barchuns Sharpedio UPFC I, and Ryan’s PG Tips in UPFC III. MrKumaD's next matchup is Steven. If he wins this, it will put him in the division's second seed and get the most wins for a Rookie in the UPFC history.
9. Ryeryebguy was undercooked against the Rookie MrKumaD. No one expected him to lose against the rookie. PG Tips, who is Ryan’s top performer, couldn’t handle the OU Pokémon Greninja. Ryeryebguy will have to stay positive and maybe try to incorporate his veteran Pokémon Marshmallow. We are glad Ryeryebguy is in the tournament, and maybe next week, he can defeat the defending champion, Barchun, and surprise the entire club.
10. Isaac had another nail-biter against Flak3. Though Isaac played well, he couldn’t stop Bob Saget. The match's highlight for Isaac was taking out the legendary Pokémon Bossk, a veteran of the UPFC. Isaac had high hopes for his Incineroar but didn’t perform well, getting 0k/2d/2a. The two Pokemon that consistently play well for Isaac are Houndstone and Bokoblin. Bokoblin is one of the leading Pokémon in assists in this league. Isaac’s next matchup is Billay; if he gets one win in a three-game series, it will be a miracle.
