Week 5 Power Rankings

Playoff Picture is published and we had one matchup that devastated a veteran. This is week 5 of Power Rankings.

1.. did what he needed to do. Closing the game against RyeRyebGuy with only a total of 4 Pokemon fainting. His best performer, Scovillain, performed a KDA of 6/2/3. The only conversation that needs to be mentioned is Hayden’s next opponent: Flak3. These two have been rivals since UPFC I, and often, Barchun gets the better of him. This game will be the most critical matchup for him this season. If he wins this matchup, it will increase his chances of getting into the playoffs without going to the knockout round and decrease the odds of Flak3 making the playoffs.

2. Noah’s superior rotation of OU Pokémon and better tactical performance was the perfect formula to defeat TT-Bone in two games. Noah’s win against TT-Bone and Billay show hands down this trainer is one of the top two competitors in the tournament. Ditto constantly controlled the game's tempo, while Kingambit was the perfect powerhouse to knock out the weakened Pokémon with a kDa of 3/1/0. The most impressive Pokémon in this matchup was Noah’s ammonguss becoming a sweeper stopper with a perfect kDa 3/0/2. Noah’s next matchup is Isaac; this should, hands down, be an easy matchup for the superior Pokémon trainer.

3. Stevens on the warpath to maintain his first place in the Scarlet Division. The Most Valuable Pokémon in this matchup was Clodsire, coming off the bench for the first time and getting 2 Knockouts, 2 Faints, and 8 assists in two games. The impressive 8 assists came from many Toxic Spikes planted on the stadium floor. This resulted in Mr. KumaD’s Pokémon, one after another, becoming poisoned. Each game resulted in a three-Pokémon lead for Steven in the two matches against each other. Steven also played Billay in his week 6 matchup. Steven bonded with Haxorus and was able to time the attack to result in a 9/1/0 kDa. Clodsire also, after this matchup, managed to be the leading assist Pokémon in the entire league. Whoever, Steven plays next will have a huge shield to block this trainer on the warpath to the number one seed in the Scarlet division.

4. TT-Bone was outplayed by Noah, losing two games in a row. Though this trainer lost, much can be taken away from this match. Noah uses his superior OU Pokemon to rotate in and out to maintain tempo control. Though Hitmonchan, in his debut, tried to disrupt the rotation of Ditto, Kingambit, Ammonguss, and Kingambit, it just wasn’t enough. Hitmonchan was the best performer for TT-Bone, grabbing a KDA of 3/2/0. TT-Bone must learn when the right time is to substitute a particular Pokemon to maximize his advantage. TT-Bone’s next matchup is MrKumaD; though MrKumaD has performed well as a rookie, TT-Bone’s veteran experience will be his advantage.

5. Blaze is starting to form in the second half of the season. Defeating Flak3 in three games and having the most three-game series in the entire league shows that he needed time to discover his team’s full potential to finally break the barrier of winning a three-game series. No stats were recorded during the match and no evidence of what happened in the game. Blaze’s next matchup is Ryeryebguy, so this Pokémon trainer can build his wins and possibly be in the playoffs.

6. Flak3 losing to Blaze is detrimental to his opportunity to make the Playoffs in UPFC III. Flak 3 has the most challenging second-half schedule, playing 3 trainers with over 50% or better win rate. No stats were shared in the match and no pictures were taken. But, if what Blaze and Flak3 are saying is true. Flak3 is in trouble in the UPFC III.

7. Billy won, but it did come at a cost. Isaac won his first game against Billay, taking this matchup to game three. Though it caught Billay off guard, he kept his composure, regrouped his Pokémon, and won the third game with one Pokémon left. However,

following this game, Billy played his week 6 matchup with Steven. This series, unlike the previous one, went only two games. The biggest roadblock for this trainer was Haxorus. It wasn’t until the second game that Brambleghast and Billay were able to outsmart the strong Haxorus. Billay’s top performer was Donphan getting a 2/2/0 KDA. His next matchup will determine if this trainer loses his playoff spot.

8. MrKumaD’s Cinderella story of getting a three-game winning streak would be a record for a Rookie in the UPFC III. But it all came to an end because of Steven. Surprisingly, Mr. Kuma’s strongest performing Pokémon was Bombardier, performing a 2k/2d/0a game. Scizor did get one faint, but Geninja and Combat Taraus didn’t do enough to win against the top Scarlet Division trainer, Steven. MrKumaD’s next matchup is TT-Bone. Mr. KumaD will have to have a near-perfect game to win. If he does win, he will be back in the Playoff hunt.

9. RyeryebGuy had an expected loss against Barchun. PG Tips had an underwhelming game, recording a KDA 0/2/0. The only Pokémon that had a decent showing was Challah with 1/2/0. Bottom line, it was a dominant performance by Barchun. For RyeRyebGuy to play better, he will have to practice with his team. Though this is unlikely, we are grateful for RyeRyeBguy playing in UPFC III. RyeRyebGuy’s next matchup is Blxze. This will be a matchup between two trainers with an underwhelming showing in UPFC III.

10. Isaac got one win in a three-game series with Billay. The trainer’s Pokemon traded blows back and forth, but it relied lastly on Mighty and the trainer predicting the moves of Billay to pull a nasty plot substitute strategy against a lokix ready to take him out. Mighty and the rest of the Pokemon this trainer had had a near-perfect performance. What Isaac can take away from this match is not to give up, not to quit, and you can get better and better.
